The duration of a grooming session depends on the size, coat condition, and temperament of your pet, as well as the specific services requested. On average, most grooming appointments take between 1.5 to 3 hours. We work at a steady and gentle pace to ensure your pet feels safe and comfortable throughout the process. Our priority is quality and care—not rushing—so we’ll always take the time needed to give your pet the best experience possible. You’ll be notified as soon as your pet is ready for pickup.
Yes, we specialize in grooming senior and anxious dogs. Our team is trained to provide gentle, patient care in a calm, one-on-one environment designed to reduce stress. We understand that older pets and those with anxiety require extra time, attention, and understanding—and we’re committed to making their grooming experience as comfortable and safe as possible.
Due to the additional care and handling involved, there is a $15 fee for senior dogs. This allows us to give them the time and special attention they deserve.
At Pets In Black Grooming, we value your time and our team’s. To keep things running smoothly, we kindly ask that cancellations or rescheduling be made at least 24 hours in advance.
- Cancellations made within 24 hours of your appointment will be charged 50% of the service cost.
- No-shows will be charged 100% of the service cost.
This policy helps us respect our groomers’ schedules and allows other pets the opportunity to be seen. Thank you for your understanding and continued support!
We understand how much you care about your furry friend—and we love that! However, for safety and focus, we do not allow pet parents to stay in the grooming area during the session.
There are two important reasons for this policy:
- Safety & Focus – Pets often act differently when their owners are nearby. Even the calmest pup can become overly excited or anxious, which can make the grooming process more difficult and even unsafe. A distraction-free environment allows us to give your pet the safest, most relaxing experience possible.
- Professional Standards & Privacy – While HIPAA specifically applies to human healthcare, we follow similar privacy and care standards in our salon. Allowing third parties in the grooming area can disrupt the process and compromise both safety and professionalism.
But don’t worry—you won’t be left standing! While your pet gets pampered, you're welcome to relax in our cozy waiting salon, complete with coffee, water, sodas, and calming music to help you unwind. It’s our way of taking care of you, while we take care of your pet.
We’ll notify you as soon as your furry friend is ready to head home looking their best!
We understand that delays happen, and we do our best to be flexible. If you’re running late, please contact us as soon as possible.
- We offer a 15-minute grace period. Arrivals after this window will be considered late, and your grooming session may be shortened or adjusted depending on our schedule.
- If you arrive more than 30 minutes late, the appointment will be marked as a No-Show, and you will be charged 100% of the service fee.
Our schedule is carefully designed to allow focused, one-on-one attention for every pet. Late arrivals impact the experience for others, so we truly appreciate your punctuality and understanding.

🐾 Flea Infestation Policy & Fee
At Pets In Black Grooming, we are committed to keeping our salon clean, safe, and comfortable for every pet.
If a pet arrives with a flea infestation, a mandatory Flea Infestation Fee will be added to the grooming cost.
Why this fee is required:
- Additional grooming time is needed to address the infestation.
- The salon must undergo thorough cleaning and fumigation immediately after the appointment to protect all pets in our care.
Fee by dog size:
- Small – $20
- Medium – $30
- Large – $40
- Extra Large & over – $50+
We recommend treating your pet and home environment promptly to prevent reinfestation.
